Team total goals use a numerical line for one side. If North City has a line of 1.5, Over requires North City to score at least two goals, while Under wins if North City scores zero or one. Riverside FC’s goals do not add to that number.

This is the key distinction from standard match totals, where both teams’ goals are combined. A 2-1 final score contains three goals overall, but the home side has two and the away side has one.

A team goal line of 1.5 cannot finish exactly on the number, so there is no push. Over 1.5 needs two or more goals from the selected team. Under 1.5 needs one or none.

The .5 creates a clear two-way settlement because a football team cannot score half a goal.

Suppose North City is listed for Over 1.5 home team goals at decimal odds of 1.80. You stake SGD 20. If North City scores twice, the selection wins and the total return is SGD 36. If North City scores once, the selection loses even if the match itself finishes 1-0 and North City wins.

This shows why home team goals should be separated from the match result. A team can win without clearing its own scoring line, or lose a high-scoring match while still exceeding that line.

The same logic applies to away team goals. If Riverside FC is Over 0.5, the team needs to score at least once. If it finishes the match with zero goals, Over loses regardless of what happened at the other end.

An away side losing 3-1 can still satisfy an Over 0.5 selection because its own goal count reached one. The winning team does not matter unless the market wording also includes a result condition.

Team goals over under isolates one team’s scoring output. A standard Over 2.5 match total counts goals from both sides. A team-specific Over 2.5 requires the selected side alone to score at least three.

Consider a 2-2 draw. The match total is four goals, so Over 2.5 match goals wins. However, a Team A Over 2.5 selection loses because Team A scored only two. The market label determines which goals count.

If the market uses a whole number such as 2.0, landing exactly on that number can produce a push in a standard two-way total, depending on the rules shown. If you select Over 2.0 and the team scores exactly two, the stake may be returned rather than won or lost.

Half-number lines such as 1.5 or 2.5 avoid that exact tie. Before placing team goals over under, check whether the line is a whole number, half number or another type of total.

A first-half team total market counts only goals scored by the selected side during the first half, including relevant stoppage time under standard football settlement. Second-half and full-match versions use different periods.

If North City has Over 0.5 for the first half and scores only after the interval, the first-half selection loses even if North City later scores several times. The period named in the market controls settlement.

A second-half scoring line focuses only on scoring during the second half when that is how the market is defined. A goal before half-time does not automatically count towards a second-half total.

This is why the scoreboard alone is not enough. You need to know the starting point of the market and the period it covers, especially during live betting.

Live team total goals can change after goals, red cards, substitutions and the passage of time. A side priced around 1.5 before kick-off might later be offered at a different line once the match situation changes.

Before confirming a live wager, check the current score, current minute and the exact team named. Do not assume a line you saw several minutes earlier is still active or settled from the same starting point.

Some live markets are settled on the full match total, while others can refer to scoring from the time the bet is placed or to a specific remaining period. The wording and rules decide this.

If the home side already leads 1-0 and you see a live team goal line, do not assume that first goal is included. Read the market title and settlement information before using the current scoreboard in your calculation.

For standard football team-total settlement, an own goal is generally credited to the team that receives the goal on the official score. If Riverside scores an own goal that puts North City 1-0 ahead, that goal contributes to North City’s official team total.

Official scoring matters because team total goals are settled from the recognised match statistics rather than from who physically touched the ball last.

If you think North City can score at least twice but are unsure whether Riverside will score, a team-specific total expresses a different opinion from predicting 2-0, 2-1 or another exact score.

A correct-score wager requires one precise result. The team-specific total can succeed across several scorelines as long as the named team’s count crosses the line.

For away team goals, do the same from the visiting side’s perspective. If your likely scores are 1-0, 1-1 and 2-1, Over 0.5 succeeds in two examples and fails in one.
